Rachel feels strongly that God has given her two main talents in life. One, a talent for administration, which she used successfully in the corporate world for many years. And two, a talent for connecting with and teaching children, which she has used to serve the Lord over the years through her local church in outreach and children's ministries. For over 15 years, these two talents had been used separately in her life until 2012 when she felt God call her away from the corporate world and into a position with Discovery Clubs, a ministry where she could use both gifts together to further God's kingdom. Rachel and her husband, Stephen, are parents to 3 amazing young adults, and grandparents to 6 wonderful grandchildren.

Carol Gargus

Carol is a R.N. by profession and worked in home health and hospice for many years.  She has been involved in ministry to children, youth and adult for over 30 years.  She has coordinated the Appalachian Ministry/mission trips for over 20 years at her church. Carol started out as a volunteer with Discovery Clubs in 2011 and has held various positions with Discovery Clubs over the years. She is married and has 2 adult sons and 1 grandson and a poodle.

Mary Teel

Mary Teel grew up in Montgomery, AL. She attended Clemson University and graduated in 2020 with a BS in Plant and Environmental Sciences. She then served as a Journeyman with the International Mission Board in Kaabong, Uganda for two years. She has a heart for the advancement of the Gospel among all people and has experience in church planting, discipleship, evangelism, trauma healing, story crafting and telling, emotionally healthy spirituality, and leadership development. She is thrilled to be a part of the work that the Lord is doing here in Birmingham and would love opportunities to connect and share about missions.
