Executive Director

Bill Sears

With nearly forty years of ministry experience, Bill Sears brings a unique blend of pastoral leadership and executive administration to serving churches and ministry leaders. Most recently, Bill serves as Executive Pastor of Huffman Baptist Church, helping lead a remarkable season of church revitalization while building community partnerships that extend the Gospel beyond the church campus. Bill began serving with Discovery Clubs in July 2026 while continuing in a part-time role at Huffman Baptist Church. He holds degrees from The Baptist College of Florida and Beeson Divinity School and completed Emory University's National Certification Program in Church Finance and Administration. Through Bill's leadership, Discovery Clubs goal is to establish new partnerships, expand into additional schools, and equip even more churches to participate in the mission of God.

Rachel feels strongly that God has given her two main talents in life. One, a talent for administration, which she used successfully in the corporate world for many years. And two, a talent for connecting with and teaching children, which she has used to serve the Lord over the years through her local church in outreach and children's ministries. For over 15 years, these two talents had been used separately in her life until 2012 when she felt God call her away from the corporate world and into a position with Discovery Clubs, a ministry where she could use both gifts together to further God's kingdom. Rachel and her husband, Stephen, have been married for 30 years and are parents to 3 amazing adults, and grandparents to 6 wonderful grandchildren.

Carol is a R.N. by profession and worked in home health and hospice for many years. She has been involved in ministry to children, youth and adult for over 30 years. She has coordinated the Appalachian Ministry/mission trips for over 20 years at her church. Carol started out as a volunteer with Discovery Clubs in 2011 and has held various positions with Discovery Clubs over the years. She is married and has 2 adult sons and 4 grandchildren.

Luke is a current student at Samford University with a Christian Ministry Major. He felt the Lord's calling on his life for ministry in the eighth grade and has since sought to fulfill that role in numerous capacities. Luke served as an Associate Pastor in New Underwood, South Dakota and has also interned with the Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham as the Adult and Small Groups Ministry Intern before accepting his current position with both BMBA (as Ministry Intern) and Discovery Clubs (as Ministry Associate).

Luke's passion is for communities to have a culture of disciple-making by way of intentionality in relationships, urgency to the Great Commission, and dependency on the Holy Spirit, all for the glory of God.
